President-elect Joe Biden preparing to undo several Trump policies with executive orders

By BBN Staff: United States President-elect Joesph Biden is preparing a series of executive orders to undo several actions and policies put in place by outgoing President Donald Trump, reports the Washington Post.

Biden is reportedly gearing up to revere Trump-era policies in the areas such as climate change, immigration, and public health when he takes office on January 20.

In the realm of climate change, Biden plans to reverse Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris climate accords, adopted by United Nations member states back in 2016. Biden is also planning to reverse a travel ban instituted by the Trump administration, targeting several Muslim-majority countries, and reverse Trump’s withdrawal of the US from the World Health Organization.

Biden is reportedly preparing to reinstate the “Dreamers” program, allowing those brought illegally to the United States as children to remain in the country and undo the Trump Administration’s rollback of 100 public health and environmental policies instituted by the Obama administration, in which he served as Vice President.

He is also planning to reverse Trump’s policies that target transgender people, an issue he reportedly spoke directly to during his victory speech.

Notably, Biden’s attempt at sweeping changes could see major resistance of the Republican party manages to seize control of the Senate. The composition of the Senate will not be determined until January 5.
