National Hurricane Center: Tropical depression in the central Caribbean to form later today

Posted: Friday, November 13, 2020. 9:27 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring a broad area of low pressure over the central Caribbean Sea.

The NHC reports that the system has become better organized and environmental conditions are conducive for additional development.

A tropical depression or tropical storm is likely to form later today or tonight while the system moves slowly westward.

Forecasters say that additional development of the system is likely over the weekend, and interests in Honduras and Nicaragua should closely monitor the progress of the disturbance.
