Belize, It is Time to Pray!

Contributed by Repent Belize: The National prayer of Belize was written by the late George Cadle Price. He served the country of Belize as Prime Minister and is one of the founding fathers of Belize in gaining independence from Great Britain. This prayer begins with a Biblical acknowledgement of the Almighty and Eternal God. This is how the prayer begins…

“Almighty and Eternal God, who through Jesus Christ has revealed Your Glory to all nations, please protect and preserve Belize, our beloved country…”

This great prayer acknowledges, that it is only through Jesus Christ, God has revealed His glory to all nations.  As believers, we are grateful for the life and work of George Cadle Price. It was the Almighty God that gave him those words in that prayer. The rest of the prayer would make no sense and have no power if it didn’t begin with the acknowledgement of the One True God.

“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 124:8)

HE is the true God! WE cannot be God or a “god” as we are the creation and must worship the Creator. The truth we know all too well is that we have all sinned against God who made us. Some of our sins are more obvious than others; but God who sees the heart says that all men have sin…

“For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin,

as it is written:

“None is righteous, no, not one;

no one understands;

no one seeks for God.

All have turned aside;

together they have become worthless;

no one does good, not even one.”

“Their throat is an open grave;

they use their tongues to deceive.”

“The venom of asps is under their lips.”

“Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”

“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

in their paths are ruin and misery,

and the way of peace they have not known.”

“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:9-18,23)

As a sinner the only way we can come to God is through Jesus Christ.

He died for sin.

He tasted death for His people.

Hebrews 2:9 says “His blood takes away and cleanses us from sin”

He rose from the grave, destroying the power of sin, death, and hell’s judgment for sin. His resurrection proved that God accepted His sacrifice for sin, so that we can through repentance and faith be justified (declared guiltless) and be saved with eternal life; joy, having now peace with God, having access to God, only through the Lord Jesus!

This is the only way we can pray.

Any prayer that approaches God through any other means or person is a false prayer …a waste of time!

We only have One Mediator 1 Tim. 2:5, One Advocate, 1 John 2:1 and Way to God, John 14:6.

Repent, turn to God, and trust in His Son Jesus, or you will never truly pray to the God of heaven and earth.

You need God’s help daily.

Our country needs God help.

We must be praying according to the way we find in God’s Holy Word.
