By BBN Staff: Belize Water Services (BWS) extended its sympathies to family and friends on the passing of one of its employees who died today due to complications associated to COVID-19.

“The employee was a valued member of our team and will be greatly missed. BWS Management and staff extends our love and full support to the family in this very difficult time, as we grieve along with them,” BWS said.

BWS says that it has investigated a possible COVID-19 cluster within several field crews based at BWS Headquarters office in Belize City.

The company says that it responsibly followed the Ministry of Health’s and internal pandemic guidelines, ensuring all the necessary steps were taken.

“Once it was confirmed that a cluster existed, BWS immediately placed the employees on quarantine and made arrangements for all of them to be tested, which was completed on Thursday, November 12, 2020 and currently awaiting those results. The company ensured that the proper sanitization of workspaces and vehicles utilized by these crews were immediately carried out. Please note that the customer service and all other sections of the office not directly affected were also sanitized,” the company added.

BWS reminds the public to adhere to all the COVID-19 measures put in place to protect all of everyone.
