By BBN Staff: Cayo West Area Representative, Jorge ‘Milin’ Espat has tested positive for COVID-19.
Milin Espat is the second area representative that has tested positive for the virus following Wednesday’s election. Toledo East area representative, Mike Espat was the first newly elected area representative to test positive for the virus on Saturday and has been hospitalized. Milin and Mike Espat from the PUP joins UDP’s John Saldivar from the Belmopan constituency and Tony Herrera from Corozal Southeast constituency who also tested positive for COVID-19.
Milin issued an official statement today informing constituents of the diagnosis.
“It has always been my plan to be of service to you at all times. However, I was feeling feverish and was swabbed and found that I am positive for COVID-19. Due to this, I lament that I will not be able to attend to your needs at this moment. The office of the Hon. Jorge ‘Milin’ Espat will remain closed until further notice. In reference to any queries, please contact Mrs.Katie Jones at 666-1898 or Mr. Shamir Pulido at 635-1627,” he said.
He urges all Belizeans to adhere to all precautionary measures.
