John Saldivar thanks voters in Belmopan; advises UDP to not “bury our heads in the sand”

By BBN Staff: Former area representative for Belmopan, John Saldivar, is currently recovering from COVID-19 at home but issued an upbeat message via social media a short while ago.

Saldivar said that despite “lying in bed…I don’t want another day to go by without saying thanks to the wonderful people all across Belmopan who stood strong with John. I continue to be touched by your unwavering loyalty.”

Praises were echoed for his campaign team who according to Saldivar worked “day in and day out for little or nothing”. Saldivar noted that while they have stumbled “it’s not a place we have not been before and we will do now the same as we did then, work everyday to close the margin until we see victory again”.

For the People’s United Party, Saldivar noted that they have five years to make good on their promises and opined that Belmopan is already used to a high standards that has been set.

To his colleagues and supporters of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Saldivar advised them not to “bury our heads in the sand and not recognize what took place. Let us join hands, all of us together, casting no one aside”. No one is superior for winning, no one is inferior for losing, said Saldivar.
