New members of Cabinet swear in

By Aaron Humes: Eighteen members of Cabinet and seven Ministers of State are being sworn in by Governor General Sir Colville Young in Belmopan.

The Ministers must publicly swear as follows: I, _________________, do swear that I will bear true faith and allegiance to Belize, and will uphold the Constitution and the law, and that I will conscientiously, impartially and to the best of my ability discharge my duties as[_______________] and do right to all manner of people without fear or favour, affection or ill-will. [So help me, God.]

Without this oath, they are unable to properly take on their roles and duties as appointed by the Governor General.

Following the swearing in, the group will meet in Belmopan this afternoon to discuss urgent issues of state.
