Man fatally shot while buying marijuana in Ladyville: Police

By BBN Staff: On Monday, November 16th, 2020 at 8:10 pm acting on information received, Ladyville Police visited an open yard at the extreme end of Jackson Avenue in the Japan area of Ladyville where Pamela Staine, 44, informed authorities that her common-law husband was shot.

She led Police into the yard where the motionless body of Delroy Chaplin, 35, was observed lying on his back with apparent gunshot wounds to the body.

Initial investigation revealed that about 8:00 pm, Chaplin had left his home to purchase marijuana at an unknown location on a bicycle, and on his way back, he was ambushed by unknown person(s) who fired gunshots in his direction causing his injuries.

Police are investigating.
