By BBN Staff: With the evolving world of technology, digital media and e-learning, the new administration specifically designed the Ministry of Education’s portfolio to include the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology.

The Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology is Francis Fonseca.

Fonseca holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, a Bachelor of Law with honours, and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Normal Manley Law School.

He has served the public and private sectors, as a Research Economist with SPEAR (Society for the Promotion of Education and Research), an Economist in the Ministry of Economic Development and a Crown Counsel in the DPP’s Office before he decided to go into private practice.

He has been Area Representative of Freetown since 2003 and has been Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, Attorney-General and Minister of Education, Youth, Culture and Sports.

With his extensive experience in the Ministry of Education will undoubtedly be an asset to serve and address the challenges in the ministry especially during the pandemic.
