COVID-19 update: 38 new cases and 20 recoveries

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health and Wellness reports that a total of 164 samples were processed today with 38 cases of COVID-19 identified, giving a positivity rate of 23.2%.

The geographic distribution of the 38 new cases is as follows:

Corozal – 1 (1 Calcutta)
Orange Walk -14 (4 Corozal town, 4 San Jose, 2 San Lorenzo, 1 August Pine Ridge, 1 Guinea Grass, 1 San Luis, 1 San Joaquin)
Belize – 11 (9 Belize City, 1 from Santa Familia CY, 1 from Paraiso (Corozal)
Cayo – 7 (3 Belmopan, 2 Teakettle, 1 Benque Viejo del Carmen, 1 Camalote)
Stann Creek – 4 (2 Independence, 1 Red Bank, 1 Valley Community)
Toledo – 1 (1 San Antonio)

Twenty cases recovered today and 43.9% of total cases remain active. 955 cases are currently under investigation.
