By Aaron Humes: The former UDP Government, Prime Minister John Briceño informed the nation today, did not leave a plan, comprehensive or otherwise, for fighting the spread of COVID-19.
The disease has killed upwards of 90 persons and infected nearly 5,000 since March and appears to show no signs of slowing down.
Cabinet heard from Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero, on the issue during its first meeting on Monday.
New Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat, will present a plan he has developed with his technical team and advisors at the first regular Cabinet meeting next Tuesday.
Also scheduled to present updates on their Ministries are the Minister of Infrastructure Development and Housing Julius Espat and the Minister for Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management, Orlando Habet, as the Government moves to an “informed position” in its journey to restore confidence in the system, despite the level of corruption and mismanagement the new Government has so far found.
