By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that moist and unstable weather conditions will persist today.
The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy to overcast skies with periods of rain, which will be continuous over some places, some showers, and a few thunderstorms today and tonight.
“A flood warning is in effect for the Belize, Cayo, Stann Creek, and Toledo districts. Residents in the Belize River Valley and downstream to the coast should remain vigilant as the rising floodwaters move downstream towards the coast,” the Met Service said.
Today’s temperature highs will range from 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 80 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 76 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 72 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 63 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Winds will be gusty, blowing Northeast between 10-20 knots, and the sea state will be rough.
“A small craft warning remains in effect for coastal waters of the country. Operators of small crafts should seek safe harbor, ” the Met Service added.
Low tide began at 7:40 a.m. and high tide will come in at 1:54 p.m.
The sun will set at 5:16 p.m. and the moon rose today at 10:31 a.m.
