Happy Children’s Day 2020!

Belize is celebrating the event under the theme, “ Investing in our future means investing in our children.”

In 1954, World Children’s Day was established and celebrated on November 20th each year to promote awareness among children worldwide and improving the wellbeing of children around the globe.

Then in 1959, the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Educators, parents, community workers, and government leaders around the world recognize the important role in making Children’s Day relevant for their communities and countries.

It is an opportunity for all of us to advocate and promote children’s rights and actions and bring forth a better world for children.
