By BBN Staff: American Airlines (AA) is resuming its non-stop flight from Los Angeles, California, to Belize in early 2021.
The flight, which departs from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) resumes on Saturday, January 9, 2020, and will operate on Saturdays only.
The first flight is at 8:00 a.m. and is scheduled to land at 2:57 p.m. Belize time. AA also has a flight leaving the Philip Goldson International Airport (PGIA) at 4:00 p.m. Belize time and arrives at the LAX at 7:31 p.m. Flights can be booked at aa.com.
Tropic Air noted today that the resumption of the non-stop flight will mean that AA will have flights from four US states in early 2020.
“With this resumption, American Airlines will have service to Belize from Miami, Dallas, Charlotte, and Los Angeles by January 2021,” Tropic Air said.
The increased number of flights will be welcome news to Belize’s tourism sector, which has suffered massive losses due to the COVId-19 pandemic. As the industry tries to rebound from those losses, travelers from the US, which make up around 67 percent of all visitors to Belize according to data from the Belize Tourism Board 9BTB), will play a key role in its recovery.
