The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that weather conditions are expected to improve today.
The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over some coastal and offshore areas this morning and tonight, then mostly over central and inland areas this afternoon. Elsewhere, showers or thunderstorms will be isolated.
“A flood warning remains in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas of the country and residents in the Belize River valley and downstream areas should remain vigilant as the rising floodwaters move downstream towards the coast.,” the Met Service said.
Today’s temperature highs will range from 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 84 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 75 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 74 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 70 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 66 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Winds will be blowing North-Northeast between 5-15 knots, and the sea state will be choppy.
Low tide began at 9:45 a.m. and high tide will come in at 4:06 p.m.
The sun will set at 5:15 p.m. and the moon will rise at 12:46 p.m.
