Caribbean has seen over 270,000 cases of COVID-19

By BBN Staff: The Caribbean media house Loop, which has been tracking the COVID-19 situation within the region, reports that the number of confirmed cases for Caribbean countries combined is over 270,000.

In an article published today, Loop notes that the total number of infections for the region stands at 278,254.

The breakdown for the number of infections, recoveries, and deaths by country is as follows:

Dominican Republic- 138,410 cases, 2310 deaths, 112,552 recoveries

Puerto Rico- 46,923 cases, 1032 deaths 

French Guiana- 11,014 cases, 70 deaths, 9995 recovered

Jamaica- 10,284 cases, 238 deaths, 5505 recovered 

Haiti- 9214 cases, 232 deaths, 7854 recovered 

Guadeloupe- 8225 cases, 144 deaths, 2242 recovered 

Cuba- 7846 cases, 132 deaths, 7334 recovered 

Bahamas- 7413 cases, 163 deaths, 5652 recovered 

Trinidad and Tobago- 6450 cases, 115 deaths, 5610 recovered 

Suriname- 5296 cases, 116 deaths, 5168 recovered 

Belize- 5183 cases, 116 deaths, 2842 recovered 

Guyana- 5133 cases, 143 deaths, 4019 recovered 

Martinique- 4732 cases, 37 deaths, 98 recovered 

Aruba- 4731 cases, 45 deaths, 4596 recovered 

Curacao- 1749 cases, 3 deaths, 1004 recovered 

US Virgin Islands- 1504 cases, 23 deaths, 1407 recovered 

Sint Maarten- 1007 cases, 25 deaths, 890 recovered 

Turks and Caicos- 746 cases, 6 deaths, 700 recovered 

Saint Martin- 690 cases, 12 deaths, 598 recovered 

Cayman Islands- 261 cases, 2 deaths, 245 recovered 

Barbados- 259 cases, 7 deaths, 241 recovered 

Bermuda- 227 cases, 9 deaths, 200 recovered 

Saint Lucia- 220 cases, 2 deaths, 60 recovered 

Bonaire- 142 cases, 3 deaths, 136 recovered 

Antigua and Barbuda- 139 cases, 4 deaths, 128 recovered 

Saint Barthelemy- 127 cases, 94 recovered  

St Vincent and the Grenadines- 84 cases, 78 recovered 

Dominica- 77 cases, 63 recovered 

British Virgin Islands- 71 cases, 1 death, 70 recovered 

Grenada- 41 cases, 30 recovered 

Saint Kitts and Nevis- 20 cases, 19 recovered

Sint Eustatius- 14 cases, 14 recovered
