By Aaron Humes: This evening, the office of the Prime Minister John Briceño announced that he was swabbed for COVID-19 and has tested positive.
The Prime Minister, 60, will remain in isolation for the next two weeks, after which he will be re-tested.
There is no word as yet as to how this affects plans to formally open the National Assembly and other pending matters. Cabinet was due to meet on Tuesday to discuss the issue of appointment of chief executive officers and the plan to fight COVID-19 by Health and Wellness Minister Michel Chebat among other things.
The public is encouraged to continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, and continue to follow all guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
