By BBN Staff: The Belize Scouts Foundation and scouts all over the country are mourning the loss of an icon in the Scouts community: Second Chief Scout Jorge Julian Castillo.
Castillio, 74, dies last night, due to complications from injuries sustained from a fall earlier this month. He had been hospitalized for the final weeks of his life before he passed away.
In his professional life, Castillio, a chartered certified accountant, had co-founded an accounting firm. With respect to his dedication so the Scouts, Castillo was the recipient of the highest award in Belize’s Scouting Program, the Silver Wolf Award, as well as the Leopold (Poly) Balderamos Lifetime Achievement Award (for a high degree of initiative and outstanding devotion to duty of the most exceptional nature in private, professional, and Scouting life).
He even held the position of Chairman Emeritus in the Belize Scouts Foundation up to the time of his passing.
Breaking Belize News offers its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Jorge Julian Castillo.
