Dr. Fernando Cuellar: both public and private hospitals are overwhelmed by the COVID-19 pandemic

By BBN Staff: This morning on the Wake-Up Belize (WUB) Talk Show in Belize City, Dr. Fernando Cuellar called in to share with the public concerns about the capacity of hospitals during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Dr. Cuellar said that the health system, both public and private are overwhelmed by the pandemic. He noted that people will soon start dying in waiting areas and parking lots and on the streets because of the over-saturation of the health system.

He also recommended ‘an army of contract tracers’ to aid in the detection of the virus.

Dr. Cuellar urged all Belizeans to take COVID-19 seriously and adhere to the measures by The Ministry of Health.
