Mandate to Govern- Opportunity to Change

By Delroy Cuthkelvin: In the wake of the emphatic, collective decision by Belizeans two weeks ago, this PUP Government has a mandate to manage the nation’s affairs for the next five years, and an obligation to adhere to principles of good governance and accountability.

The UDP has the responsibility to determine what went so wrong, and the opportunity to correct it and start preparing itself as an attractive alternative.

We wish the government and country well, as we reside here. If the economy recovers, it should benefit us too. We maintain the right and duty to examine and comment on whatever happens. Prior to the elections, we projected that a new PUP government would be bad for Belize. We would rather be proven wrong and see the country prosper, than be proven right and see the country suffer.
