Mexican businesses hoping the Belize Free Zone re-opens in December

By BBN Staff: Mexican businesses are hoping that the Belize Free Zone opens in December according to the Riviera Maya News agency.

With Belize’s new Prime Minister, John Briceno gauged in economic reactivation, the Free zone could re-open by December 1st.

A date has not yet been announced but the article noted that business people in Mexico have approached the new Prime Minister with hopes for the re-opening. They reportedly discussed a gradual re-opening with consideration for all health protocols.

Businesses in the Free Zone remain closed after 8 months as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
