BBN Staff: Belize’s COVID-19 death toll is now at 131 after 2 more deaths occurred on Thursday. A male from the Toledo district and a female from Orange Walk District both lost their lives due to COVID-19.
Of the 131 deaths, 91 are males and 40 are females. With 5,515 positive cases identified in Belize 131 deaths represent a case fatality rate of 2.38%.
Earlier today, Dr. Fernando Cuellar of the Belize Medical Associates warned that Belize’s public and private health facilities are overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients and warned that “people will soon start dying in waiting areas, parking lots, and on the streets”.
