Friends for Conservation and Development thanks BECOL and Florentino Sub for reforestation efforts

By BBN Staff: Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) extended gratitude to Florentino Sub and Belize Electric Company Limited (BECOL) for their reforestation efforts.

FCD noted that Red Bank located on the Eastern Maya Mountains is an important area where scarlet macaws migrate from the Chiquibul to feed on polewood and other trees.

Florentino Sub and others from the village have taken important actions to protect and reforest areas denuded so that macaws can have better feeding areas.

Through the support of BECOL, Florentino Sub has the aim of planting a total of 500 polewood.

To date, 375 of these trees have been planted
