Global COVID-19 infections over 62 million

By BBN Staff: With mere weeks before marking its first year, the COVID-19 global pandemic has affected more than 62 million people worldwide.

As of noon today, Sunday, November 29, 2020, global COVID-19 infections stood at 62,889,662.

There are close to 18 million active cases, with 105,412 (less than one percent of the total) being listed as serious/critical.

Over 1.46 million people have died from the virus, while over 43.43 million have managed to recover from it.

The United States has over 13.64 million confirmed infections, with over 4.22 million active cases and 272,584 deaths. It remains the hardest-hit country by the pandemic in the world.

India, the second-hardest hit country has over 9.43 million confirmed cases with 455,512 active cases and 137,685 deaths.

Brazil, which is the third hardest-hit country by the number of overall infections, over 6.29 million, is still second-hardest hit with respect to the numbers of deaths at 172, 706.

Belize has over 5,647 confirmed infections with the number of deaths at 144.
