Surge in COVID-19 cases continues; 96 new cases identified, 43 in Corozal district alone

By BBN Staff: After processing a total of 309 samples on Sunday, 96 new cases of COVID-19 were identified.

The 96 new cases are distributed as follows:

Corozal – 43 (25 Corozal Town, 4 San Joaquin, 3 Ranchito, 2 Cristo Rey, 2 Xaibe, 2 Concepcion, 2 Pachakan, 2 Libertad, 1 Caledonia)
Orange Walk – 2 (2 Orange Walk Town)
Belize – 6 (4 Belize City, 1 Western Paradise, 1 from Bullet Tree, Cayo)
Cayo – 19 (7 San Jose Succotz, 5 Belmopan, 2 Camalote, 2 Bullet Tree, 1 San Ignacio, 1 Teakettle, 1 Roaring Creek)
Stann Creek – 6 (1 Dangriga, 1 Independence, 1 Maya Beach, 1 from San Isidro TOL, 1 from Bella Vista TOL, 1 from Trio TOL)
Toledo – 20 (8 Silver Creek, 5 San Jose, 2 Punta Gorda, 1 San Antonio, 1 Big Falls, 1 San Miguel, 1 San Pedro Colombia, 1 Aguacate)

There were 59 recoveries reported bringing the total recoveries to 3,131 and leaving 42.9% or 2,465 of our cases remain active.
