Over 100 new COVID-19 cases detected; Cayo district alone recorded 52 cases

By BBN Staff: A total of 111 samples tested positive to COVID-19 after 339 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests were conducted today. The Cayo district alone recorded 52 of these 111 new cases.

The detailed distribution of the 111 new cases is as follows:

Corozal – 7 (3 Corozal Town, 1 Chan Chen, 1 Libertad, 1 Santa Clara, 1 from South Stann Creek)

Orange Walk – 15 (5 Orange Walk Town, 2 San Estevan, 2 Trial Farm, 1 Yo Creek, 1 Santa Martha, 1 San Jose Palmar, 1 from Patchakan CZ, 1 from CZ Town, 1 from Chunox CZ)

Belize – 14 (9 Belize City, 1 Ladyville, 1 San Pedro, 1 from OW Town, 1 from Belmopan CY, 1 from Pomona SC)

Cayo – 52 (7 Belmopan, 8 San Ignacio, 7 Santa Elena, 3 Benque Viejo, 5 Succotz, 4 Bullet Tree Falls, 3 Roaring Creek, 2 Duck Run 3, 1 Duck Run 1, 1 Esperanza, 4 San Antonio, 1 Spanish Lookout, 3 Ontario, 1 Cotton Tree, 1 Blackman Eddy, 1 Central Farm)

Stann Creek – 21 (8 Dangriga, 1 Independence, 4 Pomona, 3 Mullins River, 1 Hopkins, 1 Hope Creek, 1 Middlesex, 1 Valley Community, 1 from BZ City)

Toledo: 2 (1 Punta Gorda, 1 Silver Creek)

There were 20 recovered cases today so that 43.6% of our cases remain active.
