Fire fighter found shot to death in Punta Gorda Town station

By Aaron Humes: Fire fighter Rudolph Matura, 29, of West Street, Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District, was found apparently dead at his workplace this evening.

Initial police reports say that Matura had reported for duty at six p.m. at the station on Main Middle Street. His body was found approximately 20 minutes later with a gunshot wound to his left temple and one gunshot wound above his mouth. He was seen slouched over and bleeding heavily.

Police investigations into the circumstances of his death continue at this hour.
