By Aaron Humes: 90 of today’s 168 new cases were reported among major municipalities, according to the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Belize City has reported 35 of the district’s 45 new cases; the others are from villages in the Belize River Valley and Western Paradise on the George Price Highway.

Corozal Town accounted for 15 of 27 cases; Orange Walk Town 16 of 31; Belmopan, San Ignacio/Santa Elena and Benque Viejo combined for 22 of 29 cases in Cayo; 4 of 7 in Placencia and a other in Independence, and 7 of 21 in Punta Gorda, Toledo.

The day’s sole death was reported in Corozal.

Orange Walk is approaching 2,000 active cases, closely followed by Belize District, Corozal and Cayo Districts in that order.
