Belize Met Service: Cold front to hit later today

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) says that a cold front will be affecting the country later today.

The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy spells with isolated showers this morning, increasing to a few showers, periods of rain, and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight.

“A flood warning remains in effect for communities downstream on the Belize River,” the Met Service said.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 82 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 74 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 70 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 64 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing West-Northwest at 10-20 knots, becoming15-25 knots and the sea state will be slightly becoming moderate-rough.

“A small craft warning is likely this evening.

Low tide will begin at 9:38 a.m. and high tide will come in at 4:03 p.m.

The sun will set at 5:18 p.m. and the moon will rise tomorrow at 12:01 a.m.
