Brothers survive gunshots and a car crash in Belize City

By BBN Staff: Two brothers survived a shooting incident and a car crash in Belize City this afternoon. 

Reports are that Mikael Novelo, 19, and  Luciano Novelo Jr. 20, were driving on Fredrick Street headed to Pickstock Street when they came under gunfire.

Mikael Novelo, in an attempt to escape, sped off and eventually crashed into a parked vehicle. He sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Novelo is listed as being in stable condition.

Police are investigating.
