By BBN Staff: Today, Prime Minister John Briceno updated the nation on his recovery process from COVID-19. Briceno had been on self-isolation after testing positive from the virus.

Most of his work and interviews were being done virtually.

But, today, Briceno said that he feared being alone for 2 weeks but his new job kept him very busy.

Briceno said that indications are that he didn’t contract the virus from any of his colleagues.

Briceno also said that Area Representative for Corozal Bay, David Vega had tested positive on Wednesday and when he spoke to him, he was hopeful.

By Friday, Vega was admitted to a clinic in Corozal. At that time, he told the PM that he was getting therapy for his lungs.

On Saturday, he began experiencing difficulty breathing and was transported to Belize Healthcare partners.

The PM said that late Saturday, Vega was intubated.

“The doctors are doing all they can and we are a people of faith so I’m asking everyone to pray for David Dido Vega. We need to keep the faith that he is going to pull through,” Briceno said.
