Cases of COVID-19 continue to spike in municipalities

By Aaron Humes: Major municipalities continue to report the majority of COVID-19 cases.

Today’s heat map from the Ministry of Health and Wellness showed Corozal Town with 29 of 70 cases, Orange Walk Town with 64 of 132 cases; Belize City with 77 of 99 Belize District cases excluding San Pedro Town which had 21, Belmopan 33 (including outlying suburbs), San Ignacio and Santa Elena with 18 and Benque Viejo with 6 of a total of 94; Dangriga with 11 and Independence and Placencia with 20 of 62.

Punta Gorda only shows 2 of 28 but the Banana Belt picked up another 21 cases.

Today’s deaths were reported in Corozal District (2) and Cayo District (2).
