By BBN Staff: This morning, the Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Earl Trapp along with councilors of the Town council hosted an inauguration for a chapel at the Carmen Memorial Cemetery in Santa Elena, Cayo.
The ceremony commenced with a prayer by Pastor Eliu Yaca following by an official welcome by Councillor George Boiton.
Mayor Trapp in his address reiterated the importance of the chapel and the functions to be used for religious celebrations in the Town.
Special remarks were done by Cayo Central Area Representative, Alex Balona, who stressed the importance of unity to bring prosperity to Santa Elena Town. Balona pledged to work hand in hand with the Mayor to develop the town.
The closing remarks were done by Councillor, Vanessa Neal, who thanked the residents of the Twin Towns for their support. She also expressed gratitude to all laborers that worked on the project as well as the workers at the Twin Towns Town council.
