Minister of Health: “Dr. Manzanero has done his part in the fight against COVID-19”

By BBN Staff: On December 9, 2020, the Ministry of Health and Wellness informed that Dr. Melissa Diaz will be the acting Director of Health Services (DHS).

This was after the Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero tested positive for COVID-19. 

In an interview on Love Fm on Thursday, Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat said that Dr. Manzanero has done his part in the fight against COVID-19.

“Dr. Manzanero has contributed and he has done his part in the fight against COVID but as I had said earlier when you asked me that question, we have a mandate to change and we are looking at bringing in the best possible individuals to help us to combat this disease and to help us formulate a proper approach and so forth,” Chebat stated.

Though there was no official statement on this, Belizeans on social media have been questioning if the remarks made by the Minister of Health is goodbye to the DHS Manzanero.
