By BBN Staff: Minister of Works, Julius Espat informed on Friday that a first report of the forensic audit into Belize Infrastructure Limited (BIL) will be submitted to the Attorney General.
Espat indicated that the first report looked at misuse of public equipment and public funds.
“ We are looking at all contracts including contract officers. We are looking at contracts under foreign lending institutions. We are looking at BIL and all the contracts… it is a large forensic but we have already started. The initial one we started was the misuse of public equipment and funds. We have gotten sworn affidavits with that, we have gotten evidence. We have brought back equipment,” Espat said.
Espat added that their attorney will be giving legal advice before presenting it all to the Attorney General.
