Over 4 million more recoveries in a week- global COVID-19 recoveries now over 50 million

By BBN Staff: Seven days ago (December 6, 2020) there were over 46 million recoveries from COVID-19 globally, today, global recoveries have increased by over 4 million, taking the figure above 50 million.

According to Worldometer, the number of people that have recovered from COVID-19 as of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 13, stood at 50,635,240.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases went up from over 67.25 million to now over 72.24 million. There are currently over 19.99 million active cases, with 106,129 (0.5 percent) of them being considered serious-critical.

The USA remains the hardest-hit country in the world with over 16.55 million confirmed cases and 305,088 deaths.

India, the second-hardest hit country by the number of infections, has recorded over 9.86 million and 149,590 deaths.

Brazil, the third-hardest hit by the number of infections, has recorded over 6.58 million cases. Brazil is notably the second-hardest hit country by way of deaths relating to the virus, with 181,143 people on record as dying from complications relating to COVID-19.

Belize has recorded 9,173 cases and 192 deaths related to COVID-19.
