Commissioner of Police to activate hotline for reporting of illegal parties

Posted: Tuesday, December 15, 2020. 9:40 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Although cases of COVID-19 continue to increase drastically, the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams said that there are a number of calls daily of people reporting illegal parties being held.

Williams says that despite the evidence that COVID-19 is deadly, people continue to host social gatherings.

Since the Belize Police Department has hotlines for border jumpers, one of those lines are being transferred from border jumper hotline to restricted event hotline.

“So, we are going to create a hotline for persons to be able to call in on those who are hosting these illegal parties all over the country and once the information is received then it will be trickled down to the task force within the respective formation with a view to ensure that those persons who are hosting these events are dealt with,” Williams said.
