Police make more arrests for quarantine violations

By Aaron Humes: At times it defies description, but there still continue to be violations of the Quarantine Regulations despite warnings, advice and increasing numbers of COVID deaths countrywide.

Police say some 53 persons were arrested and charged on Wednesday for such violations. Included are 34 persons arrested for failing to wear a face mask or other face-coverings while in public, 9 people for failing to practice social distancing, 2 people for hosting a restricted social event, 6 for engaging in a contact sport with restricted to do so, and 1 for breach of curfew.

Violations carry a maximum fine of $5,000 or up to two years in jail, plus mandatory quarantine for testing.
