By BBN Staff: At a press conference held by the Ministry of Health and Wellness today, immunologist, Natalia Largaespada Baird shared that Belize expects to obtain anti-covid-19 vaccines by April 2021.
Baird explained that the Ministry will acquire 238,000 doses of the vaccine, enough to immunize 119,000 people with 2 doses.
However, priority groups for the vaccine will be front-line workers, the staff of the Ministry of Health & Wellness, elderly citizens, citizens with chronic diseases among the vulnerable populations.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and COVAX are evaluating 9 of over 150 vaccines in development.
