Government receives humanitarian relief donation from Brazil

By BBN Staff: On Friday, the Government of Belize received a donation of humanitarian relief which includes food items, hygiene kits, water and mattresses from the Government of Brazil to assist in the aftermath of Tropical Depression ETA and floods caused by Hurricane Iota.

Minister of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs, Dolores Garcia and Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change & Disaster Risk Management, Orlando Habet were on hand to receive the donation from Luciano Helmold Macieira, Ambassador of Brazil to Belize.

Belize and Brazil established diplomatic relations 37 years ago.

 The two countries continue to enjoy cordial and friendly relations which have improved significantly over the years through the proactive engagement and strong cooperation programs in education, health, agriculture, and cultural exchanges.
