By BBN Staff: On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through Chief Executive Officer, Amalia Mai received a cheque for BZ$59,584.39 from Mexico’s Ambassador to Belize, Martha Ofelia Zamarripa Rivas.

The funds will be used by the Government of Belize to provide humanitarian assistance, specifically food and sanitizing items, to Belizeans affected by tropical storms Eta and Iota.

Mai expressed appreciation to the Government of Mexico for the kind assistance on behalf of the Government and people of Belize, especially in light of the difficult economic situation worldwide as a consequence of the global pandemic.
