Santa Elena man crashes into the drain after running from police

By BBN Staff: A Santa Elena man is hospitalized after he was severely injured in an accident on Thursday night.

According to police, about 1 hour after curfew time, around 11:05, they noticed a man on a red scooter speeding and heading toward the cemetery in Santa Elena, Cayo.

Police began to follow the cycle and the man lost control and crashed into a drain near the cemetery.

He sustained large wounds to his face, head and mouth.

Police immediately took him to the hospital for medical treatment.
