More than 10,000 Belizeans have caught COVID-19 in 9 months

By BBN Staff: The COVID-19 global pandemic reached Belize in March this year, and since then over 10,000 people have caught the virus.

Data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness show that the national total for COVID-19 as of today, Sunday, December 20, 2020, stands at 10,095.

Notably, there have been 4,610 new infections recorded in just the first 20 days of December.

The Ministry has conducted a total of 54,207 tests, with a positivity rate of 21.7 percent.

Meanwhile, 82.2 percent of patients that contracted the virus have managed to recover.
