By BBN Staff: The Caribbean Development Bank made a donation of six ambulances to the Government of Belize (GOB) today.
The CDB donated the type-three ambulances under Belize’s Second Road Safety Project. Minister of Health & Wellness, Michel Chebat, officially received the ambulances and sign the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Government and the Belize Emergency Response Team at a brief ceremony in front of the Road Safety Project Office this afternoon. Financial Secretary, Mr. Joseph Waight was also in attendance.
The ambulances form a part of the CDB’s support of Belize’s Road Safety Master Plan 2030 and also contribute to the improvement of Post-Crash Care under the project.
“The Road Safety Project uses a multifaceted – cross-sectoral approach focusing on the soft interventions as it relates to (1) enhancing the behavior of road-users, (2) improving enforcement of traffic laws, (3) improving post-crash care, and (4) building road safety management capacity amongst responsible entities,” the CDB and GOB said in a joint release.
