Four men missing at sea for 10 days now

By BBN Staff: Today marks the 10th day that Omar Thompson 42, Brenton Brackett, 29, Leon Joseph, and Jeffery Gomez, 25, have been missing.

BBN broke the story about the missing men on Saturday, which was the day that Thompson’s common-law wife, Shani Alvarez, officially reported him missing.

Alvarez said that she spoke to Thompson on the morning of December 11, but attempts to reach him later that day were unfruitful.

The last known information about the group was that they had set out from Dangriga on the aforementioned date on a fishing trip on the 18th-foot dark blue skiff named ‘Life’.

After attempts to reach them by phone failed, their families launched a search. The Belize Coast Guard would join that search on December 19; however, to date, no clues to their whereabouts have been found.

Authorities are asking anyone with information on the missing men to call either 922 or the nearest police precinct.
