Police get homemade gun off the street

By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department recovered a homemade firearm in Ladyville Village this week.

On Monday, officers on patrol searched a bushy lot at mile 10.5 on the Old Northern Highway, where they found the homemade shotgun wrapped in a shirt.

There was no one in the immediate area at the time of the discovery, so the item was labeled as found property.

The find comes at a time where there are increasing reports of robberies and violent crimes.
