By BBN Staff: In a Christmas day press release, the Ministry of Finance announced that the price of diesel will increase from $8.11 to $8.46 per gallon. This 35 cents increase is to take effect on December 26, 2020.
The price of other fuels, including premium gasoline, regular gasoline and kerosene will remain unchanged at $9.18, $9.06 and $5.73 per gallon, respectively.
According to the release, the price change “reflects the current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies”.
The Government of Belize also noted in the press release that the price movements and supply conditions are being closely monitored and and that they “will work with the fuel industry to safeguard the pump prices paid by Belizean consumers”.
