Calla Creek Hammock Bridge set for repairs

By BBN Staff: The Calla Creek Hammock Bridge, which was washed away by massive flooding in November, is undergoing re-construction starting today, according to Cayo West area representative, Jorge Espat.

Espat gave the update via his official Facebook page. The bridge’s absence caused residents to traverse to and from the village by canoe for those having to leave for work and to purchase essential items.

The bridge connects Santa Rosa and Calla Creek. Espat noted that the bridge’s reconstruction is being done in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, and Housing.

“Service to my people continues,” Espat said.
