Five new COVID-19 deaths over the Christmas Holiday

By BBN Staff: While some people had the opportunity to share the Christmas holiday with their loved ones, five more Belizeans lost their lives to COVID-19, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The Ministry’s latest update, which covers the period December 25-27, shows that the five new deaths pushed that national total up to 233.

The country’s fatality rate has also gone up to 2.21.

Belize has seen 85 deaths related to COVID-19 for the month of December to date.
