By BBN Staff: Despite having a recovery rate of over 87 percent, there are still over 1,000 Belizeans with active cases of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) said today that the total number of active cases stands at 1,047. There are also 112 cases under investigation.

Of the active cases, 501 of them are females and 546 are males.

“The Ministry of Health and Wellness reminds the general public to follow the Public Health advice and adhere to the Isolation/Quarantine guidelines if you test positive,” the MOHW said. “If you have difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, seek medical attention immediately.”
